This combination allows you to discover the history and majesty of the Arenal Volcano and the awe of the La Fortuna waterfall of over 70 m in height, and swim in its refreshing waters.
First we will enjoy a scenic hike in the Arenal Volcano National Park, located at the base of the Arenal Volcano. After 1 hour of walking in the rainforest along the relatively flat and easy trails, we will reach the observation point. Along the way, we will walk along through solidified lava flows and areas that were devastated by the fury of the volcano during its eruption of 1968. Once we reach the observation point, if the clouds permit, we will enjoy incredible views of the Arenal Volcano, the Arenal Lake, and the Tilaran Mountain Range.
After taking in all of this majesty, taking some amazing panoramic pictures, and learning about the volcano, its history and its activity cycles, we will be ready to continue the rainforest hike for another 45 minutes, to meet our driver who will be awaiting us, ready to take us to the spectacular La Fortuna Waterfall.
To fully appreciate this natural wonder, we will hike down a 600 m concrete trail. This 10 minute downhill hike consists over 500 steps on a steep incline. Once we are down, you are free to take more amazing pictures and swim in the clean, refreshing waters. When it is time to head back, our guide will lead you on the hike back up, at a safe pace. Finally, our trusty driver will be waiting to return us safely to the hotel.
