Horseback Riding to the Arenal Waterfall

Horseback Riding to the Arenal Waterfall

Enjoy a horseback ride on docile, healthy horses to reach one of Arenal’s greatest treasures. First, you will enjoy 3 km (1.86 mi) on horseback through regenerating forests and paddocks. This trail will include opportunities to appreciate the beauty of the region and observe some of the frogs, toucans, insects, and monkeys that make their home here, as well as the thrill of crossing a suspension bridge. Once you reach the Pino Blanco Waterfall viewpoint, you will leave your horses for a short hike to the awe-inspiring La Fortuna Waterfall. Here you will be able to swim in the cool waters, take amazing pictures, and relax in the breeze that runs through the 100-meter (328 ft.) high canyon. This has often been named our visitors “new happy place”.

After taking in all the beauty and majesty of this waterfall, we will walk back to the viewpoint and grab our horses for the return trip on the same trail. On the way back, you can visit the Maleku Indigenous Cultural Rescue Center, where you will learn about the natives of this land, their culture, clothing, crafts, beliefs, and language.
