Walkers, hikers, and nature lovers – this one is for you!
We will start the day with a visit to the ever popular La Fortuna Waterfall. Here you will get your steps in and a great cardio workout, as you descend the 500 steps to the base of the waterfall. This trail is surrounded by beautiful, lush vegetation, but the prize is at the bottom. This breath-taking waterfall stands 60-meters (165 ft.). You can take amazing pictures to help you tell your stories when you return home, and even take a refreshing swim in its cool crystal-clear waters, before heading back up on the same 500-step trail.
Next, we will stop at a local restaurant to enjoy a delicious lunch and refuel before the next adventure.
After lunch, we will drive to the Arenal 1968 Trailhead to begin our informative Volcano Walk. The trail will take us to discover rock formations, solidified lava trails, and great views of both the iconic Arenal Volcano and the Arenal Lake. As we walk through the secondary rainforest, we will be able to spot some wildlife in this regenerating area, like rodents, reptiles, and birds. A naturalist guide will provide information about the volcanic history, as well as the flora and fauna we encounter along the way.
